These are a nice fabric, colour and pattern, but the pockets and fit are not the same as the older coaster cords from 2-3 years ago. These really flare out around the thigh and don't seem to offer coverage. I don't need people seeing my butt if they are walking behind me up a hill or stairs! The old pocket style went down much deeper and took up most of the length of the short. These pockets might hold a couple of raffle tickets or a neatly folder tissue! The old fabric was much softer too. They are tight in the waist with no give and huge around the thigh opening. Why change the style so dramatically? And, if changing it, then call the style something else, not coaster cord. I won't buy these again. I'll stick to earthworks. Please bring back the old style!

I have four beloved pairs of Coaster Cord shorts, and what a disappointment these newly designed ones were! I bought the same size as my other four pairs, and I could barely get these over my hips, let alone fastened! The front pockets are purely decorative and not functional. I love Coaster Cord fabric, and the lavender shade with embroidery is delightful, but for me, these shorts were impractical and unwearable.
